How we use AI
Last updated: September 2026
We use AI every day, and we think you should know exactly how. This page is specific on purpose — the vague version would be worth nothing to you.
What we use it for
Research and sorting through information. First drafts. Headline and subject-line variants. Translation between Polish, English and Russian. Checking code. It compresses a week of work into about three days.
What we do not use it for
Deciding what is worth saying, and shipping anything unread. Every piece of work you receive has been read, edited and signed off by a person — and that person is accountable for the result. AI is the method here, not the product.
Which tools, and on which plans
Claude (Anthropic) — Pro plan. On Anthropic's consumer plans, using your conversations to improve their models is opt-in: off unless the account holder turns it on. It is off on ours.
ChatGPT (OpenAI) — Free plan. This one is the opposite: on OpenAI's individual plans, conversations are used to improve their models unless you switch it off in Data Controls.
So what does that mean for your material
It means we do not rely on a setting to protect you. We rely on a rule: anything you give us — your documents, your data, your unpublished material — goes only to the account where model training is off. The free account is used for general work that involves nothing of yours. If a piece of work needs an exception, we ask you first, in writing.
What never goes into any AI tool
Passwords and access credentials. Your customers' personal data. Anything covered by a confidentiality agreement. Unreleased material we do not have explicit permission to use. If a project genuinely requires working with data like this, we agree how, in writing, before we start.
Image and video tools
Some AI image and video services train their models on whatever users upload, and their free and standard plans usually give you no meaningful way out. We therefore never upload client material to them — only Ascent Studio's own content, which is ours to risk.
If this changes
If we change a tool or a plan, we change this page, and the date at the top tells you when. If you would like this written into your contract rather than left on a web page, ask — we will put it in.
